It couldn't fly yet. I think it's little wings were still wet from hatching. I brought it inside, and it's currently drying on our purple fountain grass "bushy tail thingies" that I cut and put in a vase. 
Butterflies make me smile! They're such a great little blessing from God.

Hey, Kimb! Don't worry - your fig tree isn't dying. They drop their leaves this time of year. Take a look at mine when you are over here next. I'm sure it looks like yours. Remember - it will come back out in the spring!
Your "fig bush is shriveled up and dying"?! Did you yell at it for not producing fruit, even though it wasn't in season?
