something about the olympics makes me smile. i can't quite put my finger on it. the opening ceremony tonight was AMAZING! i was wowed. good job, china! we had a lot of people over to watch it on my parents' big screen. a lot of my friends were extremely bored when they were announcing all of the countries. i enjoy it all. i soak it up. when nigeria was called and the people came dancing in, it filled my heart with joy i cannot explain.our church members are praying for the olympics, china and the chinese people these next few weeks. we are praying for:
1) smooth sailing and harmony and unity among members of the world
2) a specific publishing company that is handing out tons of Bibles, and that through them the Gospel of Jesus would be spread and accepted among the chinese people and other people throughout the world
3) the chinese government to open it's arms to the Gospel of Jesus
4) in the face of persecution, the Christians (specifically the chinese ones) would stand strong in Christ
on another note, i can't wait for all of the events that are to be held during the next 17 days. they end on my first day of classes. i guess that's a good thing to prevent me from getting distracted from my studies...
yay for the olympics.
