mission trip, continued.

as i was browsing through some more pictures from mission trip (6.29.08-7.06.08), i came upon the following. these were all taken on the way to glorieta:

1) this was THE rest stop at the border of texas and new mexico. it was this huge, nice facility but did not have working restrooms. i mean, seriously??? this is one time i REALLY had to pee during the WHOLE TRIP, and the next bathrooms were up the road "only about 17 miles"... this was quite annoying. usually i can hold it like a pro. again, my bladder proved trustworthy! (bladder:1 ; evil 'rest stop':0)

though the restrooms were busted, they did have this REALLY COOL DINOSAUR BONE REPLICA... AND FREE MAPS AND LITERATURE! just what i wanted when i REALLY HAD TO PEE!
2) this is a cool picture of the sign at the border. i liked it.
3) last, but certainly not least, we came upon a mrs. baird's toaster car the night before as we were trekking to the hotel in lubbock... this=awesome. we pretty much flashed the poor driver to death with our cameras. i'm pretty sure we got flipped the bird quite a few times. he seemed to be upset b/c the toaster followed us closely for a while with his brights on. but it was too good to pass up. i mean, come on. what else should you expect when you drive a car shaped like a toaster? there was also a truck/mini-van behind him that i think was shaped like a bread box. oh, the things you see so late at night on road trips. i love it!

i hated that toaster car, b/c i was the one driving and his brights were in my eyes for like 10 minutes! silly toaster car.
