slumber/beach PARTAY!

yesterday morning at church i had a HUGE urge to go to the beach today. so, i invited all the youth girlies and lindley to come spend the night last night. it was good times! we played games, ate junk food, and stayed up talking and laughing till like 4 in the morning...very slumber party-esque.

this morning we woke up at like 8:30 and proceeded to the beach. galveston is nothing pretty to look at, but we had a BLAST! we waded pretty deep into the water, and there were TONS of fish. lindley and bri made a goal to catch a fish with their bare hands. we all tried for a while and then gave up temporarily. we went to sit in really shallow water and a fish (later referred to as "scout") swam up close to lindley. she got up, stalked it, and then caught it with her bare hands!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it was incredible. i think she half-killed it because she dropped it a few times before she got a good grip on it. poor scout. afterwards, we tanned, swam some more, and then headed to KFC for some lunch/dinner. i also stopped to get an iced soy latte at starbucks, and it was gross because they had let the shots spoil... i needed the caffeine, so i drank it anyway. it's times like those that i'm glad i'm not picky! we forgot to get a group picture which makes me sad. but here--meet scout:

sad story of the day: my sunglasses got washed away in the ocean. i told lindley to make it her goal to find them because she tends to have outrageous goals that she always reaches. she said no... :( i've gone through like 3 or 4 pairs in the past year or so for various reasons (accidentally breaking them in the trunk of the car after getting proposed to, losing them, being washed away in the ocean, etc). i have an ugly back up pair that i've had since like my junior year of high-school... go figure. they'll do for now.
